Animals

Cats:

Adorable
Full brother to Mewen, these kittens were rescued when they were orphaned. Adorable is 3 years old but is still referred to as a kitten. He is shy at first but once he warms up he is an amazingly good conservationist. He does need his vaccinations. He is neutered. He must be an inside kitty as he would try to return to the physical residence he has known for 15 months. Completely litter box trained.

Beltania

Beltania is 11 yrs old, she does have some medical conditions. Diagnosed with flea bite dermatitis, even on flea preventative she has 'hot spots', which is believed to be from feed and/or stress. She loves attention, she is an excellent listener and will even offer advice - she is a wise soul, just a very sensitive one.  Within two months of needing her vaccinations.

Lil' Man
Lil' Man is truly the senior kitty at 13 years, he has suffered de-clawing when he was young, he does require an enclosed kitty litter box  (large in size). He can go in and out so long as the outside area is he is in a protected environment - he will not jump fences. He has the most intense green eyes you could possibly imagine. He is in need of his vaccinations. His favorite food is 9 Lives Prime Chicken with Gravy, and he has adjusted to many different dry feed through the years.

Mewen
Mewen is full brother to Adorable (above), rescued when orphaned and raised with this family unit, he is bonded to his human but will vacation with cool people who recognize an old soul in a young furry body. At 3 years old Mewen is still considered a kitten. He must be kept inside as he may try to return to his human. Mewen is in need of his vaccinations.

Phoebe Peppercorn
Phoebe Peppercorn is an Emotional Support Animal that is intelligent, graceful, and royal. She knows she gets special attention and that she gets to do things the other animals in her family do not get to do. She is known as 'freedom kitty', as she was born on the 4th of July three years ago and she enables her human the freedom to travel this great country and visit family and friends.

Texas
Texas was rescued as a feral kitten to a feral mother in Montgomery, Texas (thus the name), him and his two litter mates were given the opportunity to travel with the family unit upon moving from Texas to South Carolina, he is the only one who accepted. He went from a 6 month old feral young cat to a small cage stored with many cages and many cats all inside a small SUV, rode 1600 miles, released a couple of days after arriving in SC, he never left the immediate area of the 'home grounds'. He is an excellent listener, he will offer suggestions. He doesn't like confrontations, he is not trying to run any shows. Texas is a laid back fellow, neutered at a good age he never developed any 'issues' like some juvenile spay/neuters have. He is completely litter box trained, if he has a cat secure enclosure he could be inside/outside kitty. There is a slight chance he would try to return to area lived in for 15 months. Texas is in need of his vaccinations.

Dogs:

Georgia
Georgia is a 10 year old Jack Russel Terrier (JRT) mixture. She is extremely intelligent, in process of training for Therapy Dog, she is an excellent listener, she does play toy games with humans (Frisbee, ball, etc). She is completely house trained, she is crate trained, she is completely trained to accompany her human into stores, and other public places. She is a Guardian of Cats, she is also a cat rescuer; entered a burning building to rescue her feline charges, re entered burning building (of her own accord), several times. Georgia has hiked a good portion of the Appalachian Trail through upstate South Carolina, assisted in rockhounding in the North Carolina mountains, and road traveled over half of our great country. Spayed, micro-chipped.

Paca and her new family!

ADOPTED

Caroline was a very young puppy (5 - 6 wks old), when she stepped off the sidewalk and onto Poinsett Hwy in Greenville, SC. A man seen what was happening before it happened and was an arm's reach away when she took that huge step onto one of Greenville, SC's busiest roads in mid morning traffic. He was en route to the local parts store when this took place and he ended up taking the pup into the auto parts store - O'Reilly Auto Parts. The manager on duty at that store was the boyfriend of founder (Gargoyles Animal Rescue), he text a pix of puppy and girlfriend was there within a few moments to collect her new best friend and helper in this world. At that point she looked like a full blooded German Shepherd Dog. It was only after the dog's snout stopped growing at a half-way point, that the idea she had another breed in her became confirmed. Mixed with either Pit, Akita, or Shar Pei she sure enough isn't full blooded GSD.

She is extremely intelligent and fiercely devoted. Until recently she slept in the bed by her human's side since that first day into the family.

The Food Items in Our Pantry

Through extensive research and trying different products for a little over 3 years, we have a solid menu in place for all of the animals without any special tailoring per any one animal. (That means a lot when you have numerous diners).

When the pet food recalls started dominating the social networks and mainstream media back in 2009, I became concerned for my own family and started reading up on what to look for. It was then that I learned that the main things I needed to be looking for when feeding carnivores is meat and not a meat meal. That rendering of animal parts to feed other animals is dangerous and studies have shown to be a known source of carcinogens (cancer causing pathogens), and it just sounds gross.

The second thing one should be concerned about when it comes to feeding these animals is that corn is not a ingredient in their natural diet, in fact it has been shown to cause severe problems with digestibility and due to GMOs, it too is a major carrier of carcinogens (cancer causing pathogens), not to mention a main reason why so many of today's pets are obese.

When it comes to my hard earned cash, I choose to support businesses that follow a similar code of honor as mine. Add that to all the requirements of Organic Local Supply, Morally Sound Testing, and One Facility Manufacturing of Goods, it starts to get difficult to find such a creature - so when I do - I will share such information.
