Love the smell of horses!

There are smells that we encounter in our lives that hit buttons inside our heads and scream "danger", or "yummy", you know when you get a whiff of finger nail polish remover and you grab your nose (unless you like that scent), or when you walk into a friends home and smell apple pie and you gain instant appetite. Well the smell of horse (and I mean all of that which is of the horse), puts me into a really good place. I feel like years have been lifted off my sore and damaged body, I should most definitely dream of horses tonight; red, brown, black 'n white, chestnuts, chocolates & every single one, beautiful beyond words. A girl's love for horses never dies.

A very good vibe was met with us three ladies; Lisa, Maria, and myself, looking over horses, checking pastures, listening to every word the nice man said to us. It might of came off as he was only conversing with one or two of us at a time - but I guarantee you we all heard everything, even listening to what wasn't being said.

The tack room blew me away - not that it was special, it was a normal tack room but all the leather caught me off guard and though I did see some fabric saddles, the leather is what the room smelled like. I used to love the smell of leather - well them days are gone forever. Now I think how in the world could us humans be so daft that we would put the skin of one animal onto another - especially when the wearer is a vegetarian. Other than that one ancient ruler who fed meat to his mares - and my beloved Rebel who ripped off a man's toe and ate it (sounds worse than fact - so be afraid, be very afraid), all other horses are herbivores who much on the grasses and such.

Lisa asked me for my opinion as we were leaving and I gave it a whole hearted two thumbs up. I joked that I was won over with the whole 2 feedings a day (can not believe the current boarder only feeds once a day), but that is soon to be in the past. Trace (as Lisa changed it from Tracy to get away from the whole gender issue), will be one of the most flashy horses out there and will be a hit with everyone. Ditto for Solo, another magnificent equine, that will be going too (hopefully).
