The donor asked not to be identified on the donation site and with that; her requests are honored. We know whom she is and have communicated with her. Before a couple of days ago, we did not know each other, I'm thankful for good-hearted people who utilize the internet in an almost divine way, thankful that those said people are graced in their life and they enjoy gracing others, thankful that my beloved furball - Beltania will get to go to a veterinarian this week for treatment of her flea-bite dermatitis, she will receive the medicine needed to heal her and bring comfort to her mutilated body. All because someone cares, thank you!
Beltania's medical care was absorbed into the whole venture by private means years earlier. After the relationship dissolved and became no more all the general (basic), needs of the animals fell to the way side and purchasing food became the only realistic goal. This has been going on for almost two years now and the weight of it all is sometimes unbearable by just one person (no matter how hard she tries).
With every molecule of the energy in my midst I thank this person who donated so much for a kitty to know comfort, peace, and pain-free existence - Thank You!
I held Beltania in my arms last night, she immediately started purring and I thought of the last thing the donor said about Beltania knowing how much she was loved, she was correct: I do love Beltania and believe 100% that she knows that and returns it back. A most remarkable beating heart wrapped in gorgeous black fur and golden eyes. Beltania.
Beltania will be going to the vet - the appointment is made, we have the office visit and exam covered, now all we need is to cover meds, tests, and special feed (all listed on fund site).
What we are doing here is called crowd funding, it mainly works thru people that are closest to the center of beneficiary's friend/family core and radiates out to friends, friends of family and friends, all the way out to complete strangers.
Beltania has made a lot of friends in the ten years she has been walking this Earth and pumping oxygen. We are very thankful for the people who rate her so high.
When Beltania was told about appointment I swear there was a promise of relief in her eyes, she understood my words, she knows relief is coming.
So yes, I did look up the definition so as to correctly using the label on Beltania for this blog entry.

So yes, Beltania does fall into that category.
Home girl needs some funds in her 'kitty' for vetting. She has suffered too long. Fast and furious my fingers will strike at the keys that tell of her plight. What will it take to manifest the needed funds? Pictures of her open wounds? I can do that - maybe - been trying. She doesn't sit still long enough for the camera to focus - but I will try harder. Tell of how she looks like she is miserable in her own skin. Talk about how when she lays on my desk I have to wipe the blood and pieces of her flesh and hair to have a clean and sanitized working area.
Oh I know, tell how she has terrorized Bella, the resident feline and the poor critter doesn't even want to go out into her own yard for fear of being attacked. It is a real threat, there is certain danger where Beltania is concerned. Beltania doesn't really care if you're human, dog, or cat - very not a speciest - she will hate you all equally without prejudice. But you gotta understand how much pain she is in right now. Each time a flea bites her they drop a bit of saliva, it does something to the blood - maybe making it not clot up, but each drop feels like acid to her. Can you imagine how that must feel? Have you ever welded or used a metal cutting tool? You know the kind that kicks back sparks - hot as hell, hitting your skin (right through your clothes), well magnify that times - oh say 25 X and your getting really close to how she feels. For folks who cook more so than manipulate metal, have you ever been popped by grits or splattered by the hot oil for frying?
Ever been stung by fire ants? Now that is maybe a bit more intense but after the flea biting happens in the same area again and again it pretty much has the same effect.
After this next cold snap Beltania is going to get a full body shave to make medicine applications easier and allow us to see the full extent of her injuries. Not to mention taking a couple of ounces of her total weight, which should be a relief for her. He has been dubbed "Oliver", for a reason only known to Lisa, but Oliver is now his name while he is here. Ollie has been heard in reference to calling the sweet and lovable kitty in for food or just to say "hello". "Buddy", is another name heard often being called out to him that has intact reproduction organs. Would be exceptional to get this guy vetted, to end any chance of creating more of a problem, not aiding in its solution. Poor feller has worms too, even after a strong Diatomaceous Earth worming, must not of been enough to kill his current population. Given the amount of worms he must have inside of him, it seems crazy that he gets any nutrition from the feed he is given and must be compensating on the local wildlife or random feeding stations in the neighborhood. After two treatments for the ear lice he still has a small colony that is dug in deep. During every treatment poor Oliver has dug at his ears so ferociously that he has gouged deep wounds in and on his ears. His ears must heal a good measure before another treatment is provided.
Beltania is suffering from Flea-bite Dermatitis and is in pain, she is quite miserable. Flea-bite Dermatitis is where the cat is allergic to the saliva of fleas, when they bite her it feels like a tiny drop of acid has been laid on her skin. She will scratch, dig, chew, pull hair, just about anything she can to alleviate the pain, which usually results in a bloody mess with her in the foulest of moods.
She has been subject to this condition her whole life but for the most part has maintained the condition with aggressive flea prevention and doctor prescribed pharmaceuticals, as well as allergy sensitive foodstuffs and therapeutic baths and full body massages that encourage her own natural oils to ease symptoms.
Beltania is greatly loved and bonded to her human, to rehome her wouldn't be wise as it would surely break hearts and cause her undue stress. This condition is maintainable and absolutely no sense in ending her life for such a treatable disease.
Her human is in the process of acceptance for Social Security Disability and not able to incur the veterinarian bill, meds, or proper foodstuff for her sensitivities.

Gargoyles Animal Rescue doesn't exist in Georgia, it isn't a rescue, it isn't a shelter. It could be classified as an Association, but it can't receive certification as a shelter/rescue group in the state of Georgia until it has a license for operating as a shelter. All of the fees required to obtain the certificates needed is going to cost a small fortune, there isn't a fund to make all of this happen. There isn't a really rich person forking over the greenbacks and there isn't a steady form of income to feed everyone either. (kinda like Bon Jovi - livin on a prayer). The shelter isn't going to be where the animals are living right now, so there is another expense of finding a proper facility and living quarters for the human.
What a twist - most people look for property with the animals' needs as second burner requests - and here goes this human switching things up and the human's wants and needs ride shotgun.
Must build a fund to handle the legalities of it all, for expenses associated with doing business and protecting fragile new growth.
