Her name is June, she had babies.

Please read her bio...she has not shown any aggression, just fear.  Her babies have all found loving homes...doesn't June deserve the same chance?

If ever a dog needed rescue, it's June.  This sad little dog has a very sad story...and now it could end at the shelter, alone and unloved.

If only we had the time and the resources...how often do all of us say this?  June was brought into the shelter right around the holiday season, along with another adult female, and 14 puppies...clearly the offspring of the 2 females and who knows how many males.

The puppies were quick to become socialized, and so was the other mom...all found rescue within a couple of weeks.  June, sadly, was left behind.  Too scared, too unsocialized, too much of a risk.

The shelter has been working with her, but they cannot keep her any longer.  They have asked us to help and see if we can find any rescue, anywhere, willing to work with June, and teach her that life with humans can be kind.

We will pull and arrange transport...we just need someone, somewhere to commit to this girl.  Please, contact me now.

PLEASE CONTACT COWETA COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL
TO ADOPT THIS PET: 770-254-3735.
The address is 91 Selt Road, Newnan, GA.
When we met "June" our hearts broke....into pieces.  This is a soul who
has given up....who is shut down.....who is awaiting her fate of euthanization.
It is painfully obvious that "June" has likely had a very bad life.  It is obvious
that her body has produced litter after litter of puppies.  It is obvious that she
has had very little, IF ANY, love in her life.  It is obvious that she has given
up on ever having that....ever.  It is obvious that "June" has never, ever been
inside of a "home-like" environment.  Once she entered into the bonding
room....she completely shut down.  She laid down on the slippery floor and
wouldn't move...she had no idea what was going on.  When we took her
outside, she stood up and walked right beside of the kennel staff.  The grass....
she knew...and was comfortable.  However, she stayed very close to the kennel
staff and didn't want to make eye contact with the camera....and we didn't push
her.  "June" has never....ever....shown fear aggression.  She has never growled.
All she needs is a reason to trust....that's all.  All she needs is a second chance
at life and love.  All she needs is a receiving rescue to pull her and put her into
a loving and experienced foster home.  Sadly, she is scheduled to be euthanized
on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH.  PLEASE HURRY!

Beltania and Adorable sitting in a tree...

K-i-s-s-i-n-g
     First comes Love...

They love each other, they know they do they are just playing sly. Grooming each other has been witnessed, Adorable will follow Belle all over the room and property, he will also run off any other suitors. Yes he is neutered - it goes beyond a sexual drive, it is a love bond.

Both of them are in pain right now. Beltania suffers from flea bite dermatitis in a horrible way and Adorable has something very wrong with his ears that can't be healed w/out medical attention.

Beltania takes medicine that gives her some relief but if you could feel her skin and all the scabs from her constantly scratching are horrible. She has a look of misery in her eyes.

Her meds are getting very low, she does have 2 refills left - just need to acquire the funds to do so with.

The extent of damage in his ears warranted the dog formula Pyrethrin medicine. The cat formula was 0.05 mg of drug vs this dog formula 0.06 mg Pyrethrin. The cat formula gave direction at 5 drops per ear for a couple of days and then repeat if not cleared. The dog formula calls for 5 drops as well, Adorable is getting 2 drops twice a day for 3 days then a rest only applying mineral oil in an attempted to suffocate mites and soothe irritation. It doesn't help matters that he will dust himself outside very well and his ears are black inside upon checking them. Some of what is seen on the Q-tip is dirt (or rather mud sludge), but the red tint there - that is from the mites biting the insides of his ears plus him digging at them.

((In the good news department; a lawyer has been hired for final appeal on disability, according to the lawyer, we have an excellent case) ((big smile))

Please, if you can afford a dollar or two we would greatly appreciate it and ask that you share our plight with your friends and associates. Gargoyles Animal Rescue and Dragon Sanctuary is a godsend for the animals, and will be a force to be reckoned with in the very near future!

Beltania needs a shot, she received one earlier this year - it lasted two months and cost like $12.00, she needs that - which entails an office visit for the Rx shot, good food, and a refill of her Buspirone. Flea preventative is a must for her.

Adorable needs medical attention, he needs a vet to diagnose his ears and prescribe some medicine that will aid in destroying what ever is attacking his poor ears. He is already sounding like he is deaf, you know how that sounds - like someone who can't hear their own voice.

Thankful

This rescue has been blessed by some amazing people, and we are very thankful for each and everyone. For the third times this year Liberty Humane Shelter (the NO KILL one), has helped us out with feed and yesterday they exceeded all expectations and donated 264 lbs of dog kibble and 22 lbs of kitty food. Heck unloading our bounty wore the humans out - what a way to be worn out - right!

We don't have to worry about dog food for the rest of the year - have any idea of how good that feels? Now focus can be on other important factors to our operation.

Georgia was telling me Christmas came early this year. She's such a good girl.

If you are trying to decide who gets your End of the Year donations - please consider:

They have helped us repeatedly.

Vet Appointment Made ~ A BiG Thank you!

The donor asked not to be identified on the donation site and with that; her requests are honored. We know whom she is and have communicated with her. Before a couple of days ago, we did not know each other, I'm thankful for good-hearted people who utilize the internet in an almost divine way, thankful that those said people are graced in their life and they enjoy gracing others, thankful that my beloved furball - Beltania will get to go to a veterinarian this week for treatment of her flea-bite dermatitis, she will receive the medicine needed to heal her and bring comfort to her mutilated body. All because someone cares, thank you!

Beltania's medical care was absorbed into the whole venture by private means years earlier. After the relationship dissolved and became no more all the general (basic), needs of the animals fell to the way side and purchasing food became the only realistic goal. This has been going on for almost two years now and the weight of it all is sometimes unbearable by just one person (no matter how hard she tries).

With every molecule of the energy in my midst I thank this person who donated so much for a kitty to know comfort, peace, and pain-free existence - Thank You!

I held Beltania in my arms last night, she immediately started purring and I thought of the last thing the donor said about Beltania knowing how much she was loved, she was correct: I do love Beltania and believe 100% that she knows that and returns it back. A most remarkable beating heart wrapped in gorgeous black fur and golden eyes. Beltania.

Wash day

Today was wash day for the dogs here at the rescue, first Georgia who is a pro at getting a bath, then Caroline who fought me at the start – it is was then I realized she stays pretty clean and doesn’t really need a bath that often so therefore she hasn’t had as many as them. Our big goofy bulldog Paca was the last to get her bath and she really just doesn’t care for the water part at all.
When I bathe the dogs I rinse them down – starting with their legs to gently introduce the cold water to their warm bodies, then I add dog shampoo (Sparkle & Shine by happytails), and in this instance I also added some Dawn Dish Detergent to kill off any fleas that may be present. I lather them up real good and then they get the full body Tellington TTouch massage and everyone loves that part of the bath. Then it is to be rinsed again – which always brings the long faces and the tensing up. But today I let them roll around in the grass after their bath (I never allow them do that), this time was different because afterwards we all went for a short walk (off leash), down the street and around the corner. Everybody was given a real good chance to dry off before coming back into the rescue and thus the air conditioning.
On our way back towards the house a man was walking in our direction, without even seeing the detailed look on his face I knew the sight of Paca and Caroline running loose down the street was giving him second thoughts of traveling our way.  I had their collars and leashes, which I promptly put on them. Georgia was the last one I was worried about securing and I humored myself by telling the young man she was my most vicious dog. I just had to – Georgia went towards him and he reacted – shouldn’t of reacted – hell she’s only a foot high, Paca and Caroline were already tethered to me. I am bad sometimes. Georgia would never hurt someone in a situation like that, she loves people and she honestly thinks everybody is here on this Earth to give her attention. She is the Attention Hound!
With Paca’s last potential adopter not even getting back with us after the meet ‘n greet has left me out of sorts. I would have liked some feedback, he offered the $40 administration fee, if he wasn’t planning on going thru with this – why did he do that…
Going to be honest on the whole situation though – was extremely happy about the placement until I met the man’s dog, a huge male American Bulldog who outweighed Paca by at least 40 lbs, and this dog was not trained the way dogs should be trained – he had him on a retractable leash – hate them pieces of crap. I held his dog while he took Paca for a walk – his dog didn’t want any other dog around his person and was going after them. I was trying to hold the dog but he was too strong for me using that POC retractable leash and I ended up with a really bad nylon burn on my finger – because I was not going to back up all of my training because this dog was going to pounce in Paca’s direction and she was going to respond to that by fighting. I’ve worked hard for 2 years to change that in her. I’ll take a burn to my finger to save my training, shame though – most people use them POC, they have never trained a dog correctly in their life – if so they wouldn’t be using that!
Six foot, 3\4" - 1" wide nylon leash and a choker collar is the single best tool combination on the market for any type of dog training.
Caroline also has a 12” leash; she is undergoing special training that requires her to constantly be at my side (during those training exercises).
Paca was mouthy at first, she always is, it is just her, she likes to vocalize, and it wasn’t threatening – although to someone who doesn’t know any better – it may be intimidating. She lowered her front legs in the posture “I wanna play at your level”; she even went under the dog’s mouth and licked – which is another form of “I mean you no harm”.
The man’s wife has a medium size dog and Paca was very nice to both dogs, to both people. Everything happens for a reason, and I’m not going to dwell over it, just wasn’t meant to be. That is okay, I need to be the one to finish her training and that I will do.
She is really not up for adoption anymore, I’ll leave her profiles up just in case there is a real honest to goodness perfect home out there for her – but for now we are going full fledged into her Therapy Dog training. Boy – I take on some stuff sometimes.
Caroline in Service Dog training and now Paca in Therapy Dog training, hell might as well throw a cat in the mix to. Not trying to train Georgia on anything, she is old and the ex boyfriend really didn’t do her any justice by letting her jump all over him – can’t be a Therapy Dog, Service Dog, and anything other than a nuisance with that kind of training (or should I say ‘lack’ of training). I don’t want to put her through what it would take to straighten that out – just let her stay at home.
Also made a video of Paca playing with one of the Kong toys, I want to plug for Kong here – no – I don’t get paid for this – I do this freely – because when I find something made well and does the job – I will endorse such product.
If you have a bully breed or any dog that just gives its toys hell then I highly recommend the Kong line of toys – they are tuff and ready for all my girls have thrown at them. Now mind you the oldest and largest Kong Wubba (3 years old) is looking very, very worn – but hell it is an outside toy and it has been played with like a gazillion times. Our medium Kong Wubba is 2 years old and in perfect shape (outside toy too), the smallest Kong Wubba we have is the newest but I will only let Georgia play with that one. We also have a Kong Safestix which Paca and Caroline have played tug of war for 2 years on it and it is still solid and ready for action. So yeah the Kong Corporation has done right by me, made my dollars go farther by lasting so long. The pleasure they bring the dogs is priceless and I’m telling you they made Paca’s head massive from all that playing, tossing, pulling, etc.
